The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (abbreviated CPI(M) or CPM; Hindi: भारत की कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (मार्क्सवादी) Bhārat kī Kamyunisṭ Pārṭī (Mārksvādī)) is a left-wing Marxist political party in India. It has only some significant presence in the states of Tripura, Kerala, West Bengal. The party emerged out of a split from the Communist Party of India in 1964.
