Shri Paras Chandra Jain was born on June 20, 1950. Educated upto B. Com, he has special interest in sports and wrestling. Raised amidst religious atmosphere, Shri Jain adopted food grains’ trade as occupation after finishing education. An amicable and cheerful Shri Jain has been associated with sports and culture as well as religious and social activities. Elected from Ujjain North Vidhan Sabha constituency, Shri Paras Chandra Jain has been active in politics right from student life through Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
Discharging responsibilities on various posts of Vidyarthi Parishad, he did organisational work and essayed his role as devoted worker of Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh. Shri Jain was elected to Vidhan Sabha for the first time in 1993. Shri Jain was elected from Ujjain North seat in 2003. Shri Paras Chandra Jain was included as Minister of State in Chief Minister Shri Babulal Gaur’s Council of Ministers on June 1, 2005. Later, he was given portfolio of Minister of State for Energy. Shri Paras Chandra Jain was included as Minister of State in Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s Council of Ministers on December 4, 2005.
Shri Paras Chandra Jain was given portfolio of School Education. He was elected MLA for the 4th time in 2008 Vidhan Sabha election. Shri Jain was included as Minister of State in Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s Council of Ministers on December 20, 2008. Shri Paras Chandra Jain was elected to the 14th Vidhan Sabha from Ujjain North Vidhan Sabha constituency. He took oath as Cabinet Minister on December 21, 2013
